Review app
After uploading the app to the Hive Console Sandbox Server, this is the process of checking if the app runs as intended.
Registering the PC IP address for reviewing app¶
If the IP address of the PC for app inspection is not registered on the Hive Console Sandbox Server, press the Register IP button on the Hive Console > Crossplay Launcher > App Management > Review IP to register the representative IP address (recommended) or private IP address for the inspection PC. For more information, refer to the console Guide.
Reviewing app installation/uninstallation¶
- In the inspection PC, go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Change/Remove Programs and uninstall any existing identical apps.
- In the Hive Console, navigate to Crossplay Launcher > App Management > Download Setting and search for the app list by app name and AppID.
- Find the app to be reviewed from the list and set the Review Settings to
ON
. - Press the app launch button on the webpage to install or run the Crossplay Launcher. If the app does not install automatically after installing the Crossplay Launcher, press the app launch button on the webpage again. When you run the Crossplay Launcher, it starts to install the app.
- After installation, check if shortcuts are properly created on the desktop and in the Start menu. Also, execute the shortcut to ensure the app functions correctly.
- Use data comparison tools like WinMerge to verify that the data of the app installed on the review PC matches the app uploaded to the Hive Console Sandbox Server.
- In Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Change/Remove Programs, uninstall the app.
- When removing the app, ensure the following items are also properly deleted:
- Files and registry information added to meta.json
- Desktop and Start menu shortcuts
Note
The shortcut created on the desktop after installing the app does not change even if the app is updated. To change the shortcut icon, you must uninstall the app and reinstall (restart the Crossplay Launcher) it. To change the shortcut file name, search and select the app in Hive Console App Center > Manage Project, change the file name in Game Details > Game Asset > Language support/Title per language, then uninstall and reinstall the app.
Reviewing update of app¶
- Install the previous version of the app. Alternatively, update the app only up to the previous version after installation.
- In the Hive Console, navigate to Crossplay Launcher > App Management > Download Setting and search for the app list by app name and AppID.
- Find the app to be inspected (the latest version of the app) from the list and set the Review Settings to
ON
. - Run the app shortcut on the desktop. Verify that the Crossplay Launcher updates the app to the latest version properly.
- After updating to the latest version, press the app launch button on the webpage to ensure the latest version app runs properly.
- Use data comparison tools like WinMerge to verify that the data of the latest version app on the review PC matches the data of the latest version app uploaded to the Hive ConsoleSandbox Server.
