Metric Excluded User Management

Overview

Metric Excluded User Management is a feature that excludes events generated by test payments, QA staff, and other internal employees from metric calculations.

Events generated for testing before the official launch can be excluded from metric aggregation so they can be separated from actual user data.

Note

The menu and list are visible to all users. Adding, deleting, and editing are available only to users registered in Settings > Metric Settings > Access Permission Management.

What Can You Do?

Business/Marketing Users

  • If it looks like internal employee data is included in metrics, you can obtain clean metrics simply by asking an administrator to register those accounts.

Data Analysts

  • By checking the list of users excluded from aggregation before analysis, you can immediately verify that internal data is being excluded correctly.
  • If you register internal test accounts in advance during a soft launch period, you can maintain the purity of actual user data from the start.

Developers

  • Registering development and test accounts as excluded users can completely prevent test data from being mixed into metrics.
  • By updating the list when team members change, you can always keep an accurate excluded user list.

Quick Start

If you are registering excluded users for the first time, follow the steps below to exclude internal accounts from aggregation.

  1. Click Settings > Metric Settings > Metric Excluded User Management in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the + Register button in the top right.
  3. Enter a management name.
  4. Select the target project.
  5. Choose User ID or Device ID as the identifier type.
  6. Enter the ID value of the user to exclude.
  7. Click the Save button.

Metric Excluded User A user to exclude from metric calculations (internal staff, QA staff, test accounts, etc.)
User ID A unique ID that identifies a user based on the account
Device ID A unique ID that identifies a user based on the device

View Excluded Users List

Register Excluded User

Register individual users as targets excluded from aggregation.

Bulk File Registration

Register multiple users at once from a file as excluded from aggregation.

  1. Download the registration form using the File Download button.
  2. Enter the user information to register in the form.
  3. Upload the file using the File Upload button.
  4. After upload is complete, check the added excluded users in the list.

Delete Excluded User

Delete users who no longer need to be excluded, such as former employees, from the excluded users list.

  • Editing is not supported. If conditions need to change, delete and register again.
  • After deletion, the user's event data will be included in aggregation again.

Example Use Case

Bulk Register Development/QA Team Accounts

Use bulk file registration to register team accounts all at once.

Management Name: Dev Team - Hong Gil-dong  /  Project: Game A  /  Identifier Type: User ID  /  Value: 1001
Management Name: Dev Team - Kim Young-hee    /  Project: Game A  /  Identifier Type: User ID  /  Value: 1002

-> Manage development/QA accounts in bulk so internal test data does not affect actual metrics

Notes & Tips

  • Events from users registered as excluded users are still collected, but those users are excluded when calculating metrics such as DAU and MAU.
  • During the soft launch period before the official game launch, make sure to register internal test accounts in advance.
  • User ID values must be entered accurately. If there is a typo, the intended user may not be excluded or another user may be excluded instead.
