Time Settings

Overview

Time Settings is a feature that lets you check the timezone specified in Hive Console > App Center and set the metric start date (release date).

This feature lets you exclude all event data that occurred before release from metric aggregation.

Note

The menu and list are visible to all users. Adding, deleting, and editing are available only to users registered in Settings > Metric Settings > Access Permission Management.

What Can You Do?

Business/Marketing Users

  • If you set the official release date as the metric start date, soft launch and CBT test data will not be included in official metrics, giving you clean statistics.

Data Analysts

  • If metric values seem abnormal, checking the metric start date setting lets you immediately determine whether pre-release data is included.

Quick Start

If you are using Time Settings for the first time, follow the steps below to set the metric start date.

  1. On the Time Settings page, click the calendar button for the Metric Start Date shown for the project.
  2. Select the game's official release date on the calendar.
  3. Click the Save button.

Key Concepts

Concept Description
Timezone The reference time zone used to aggregate event data (for example, Asia/Seoul, UTC)
Metric Start Date The base date from which actual event data aggregation begins. Usually the game's official release date

Check Timezone

The timezone is the basis used for the aggregation period of event data sent to Analytics. time_setting_01.png

The timezone setting feature is currently being prepared, so KST (Asia/Seoul, UTC+09:00) is applied uniformly to all projects.

Set Metric Start Date

Set the date from which metric aggregation begins. time_setting_02.png

  • It is usually set to the game's official release date.
  • Event data before the configured date is automatically excluded from all metric calculations such as DAU and revenue.

Example Use Case

Official Game Release Setup

Game soft launch: 2026-03-01 ~ 2026-03-31 (QA/internal testing)
Game official release: 2026-04-01 (global launch)

-> If the metric start date is set to 2026-04-01

  • Data before 2026-03-31 (QA data from the soft launch period) is excluded from aggregation
  • Only actual user data from 2026-04-01 onward is reflected in metrics such as DAU and revenue

Notes & Tips

  • Changing the metric start date may change the values in existing charts and dashboards. Coordinate sufficiently with the team before making changes.
  • It is recommended to set the metric start date before the game is released. If you change it after data has already accumulated, existing data may be excluded or included.
