User Management¶
Overview¶
User Management lets you view and manage the workspace permissions that each user in the company has.
You can view and manage each user's workspace roles (administrator/member) on a single screen.
What Can You Do?¶
Business/Marketing Users & Data Analysts¶
- When responsibilities change, you can quickly receive updated workspace permissions and start analysis immediately without any gap in work.
- You can keep access control for analytical assets up to date by quickly updating permissions as team composition changes.
- You can strengthen data security by removing external collaborators' access permissions all at once after a project ends.

How Is This Different from Workspace Management?¶
| Category | Workspace Management | User Management |
|---|---|---|
| Perspective | Workspace-centric | User-centric |
| Main Use | Manage members for a specific workspace | View all permissions for a specific user |
| Best For | When configuring a new workspace | When a user joins/leaves/transfers teams |
Example Use Cases¶
Onboarding a New Team Member¶
Situation: A new marketing team member joins
Process:
1. Check the new employee account on the User Management page
2. Add them as a member to the "Marketing Team" workspace
3. If needed, also add them as a member to the "Internal KPI" workspace
Cleaning Up Permissions for a Departing Employee¶
Situation: A data analyst leaves the company
Process:
1. Search for the user in User Management
2. Remove access permissions for all workspaces
Role Change¶
Situation: Promoted from team member to team lead, workspace administrator permission is needed
Process:
1. Search for the user
2. Change the role of the assigned workspace from 'member' to 'administrator'
Notes & Tips¶
- Create or delete user accounts themselves in Hive Console. In Analytics User Management, you manage only workspace permissions.
- Remove permissions for departing employees as quickly as possible to maintain security.
- Removing a user from one workspace does not affect permissions in other workspaces.
