Step 5. Create an account
Create a guest or username account. Use a guest account when users enter the app without separate authentication, and use a username account when you run your own login system within the app.
Before you create an account, check the security key and enable the login methods.
1. Get the security key
A security key is a credential that is managed per Hive Axyl project. All App IDs in the same project share the same security key.
How to get the security key
Check the security key in the Hive Console.
- Go to Hive Console > Project Settings > Security Key.
- Select the project you created earlier, and then select the Search button.
- Check the Client ID and Client Secret.
Security key types
A security key consists of two values: Client ID and Client Secret.
- Client ID
- Client Secret
You can manage up to two Client Secrets. The Get started guide uses only the Client ID to implement login. It does not use the Client Secret.
Warning
Keep the Client Secret secure so that it is not exposed externally. You must store it in a secure location. If the Client Secret is exposed, malicious users can call the API without authorization.
2. Check the login activation status in the console
The Hive Console manages the activation status of login methods, such as Google, Apple, guest, and username, for each app. You must first enable the login methods you want to use in the console settings.
- Go to Hive Console > Login > Login Settings.
- Select the project you created earlier, and then select the Search button.
- Check that guest login and username login are in the Enabled login methods area of the Default settings tab. If guest login and username login are in the Disabled login methods area, select the toggle to enable them.

3. Request account creation
After you check the security key and enable the login methods, call the creation method for the account type.
