Set up the X console

Overview

To provide login with an X account, you must check values in the X Developer Portal and register them in the Hive Console. This document describes where and how to check each value and the Hive Console screens where you register the values. Login settings explains how to enter and save the values on the console screen.

X is not a store where you distribute apps; it is an authentication provider used only for login. Therefore, you do not register a store App ID or set up payment integration. However, the login settings of the Hive Console pass values to the app based on the App ID, so if you have not created an App ID yet, first create one in Create an App ID.

Login integration

X login works as follows: the Hive Axyl server checks the authentication result received from X. For X login to work in your app, you must register the Client ID and Client Secret used for this check in the Hive Console.

1. Check the Client ID and Client Secret

The Client ID and Client Secret are values that X uses to identify the app that sent a login request, and they are issued together when you register an app in the X Developer Portal. If you have not created an app yet, first create a project and an app in the X Developer Portal.

In addition to these two values, you must also set the Callback URI and Scope in the X Developer Portal for X login to work. Register the URL where the app receives authentication results as the Callback URI, and specify the scope of user information the app requests from X as the Scope.

  1. Go to the X Developer Portal.
  2. Select the target app in Apps.
  3. Go to OAuth 2.0 Keys.
  4. Copy the value shown in Client ID. This value is the Client ID to register in the Hive Console.

  5. Copy the value shown in Client Secret. This value is the Client Secret to register in the Hive Console.
